Discussion Appropriate assessment of the leg ulcer is the initial step towards the healing of the patient. Myers, 2012 claims that Proper assessment of the patient ulcer is paramount in determining the exact etiology for the ulcer and exclude arterial disease in which compression is dangerous. Visual assessment of the ulcer alone is regarded as unsatisfactory, instead, ulcer diagnosis and skilled assessment supported by guidelines are required (Myers, 2012).
